Road Trip: Preveza and Parga with Sivota in the background

Almost the entire coastline of Preveza to Parga is full of small and larger beaches, organized and not, that offer endless opportunities and reasons for endless hours of carefree play with the sand and the sea!

Starting from the Blue Coast, you head west. The first “stops” are the castle of Pantokrator, which stands at the entrance to the Amvrakikos and the Alonaki district.

The main feature of both is the easy access to the beach (you can even go on foot). Next comes Kalamitsi, a seaside settlement with many greenhouses and crops, and now with many beautiful villas for rent.

Along the way, you come across the cape of Mytikas, one of the most beautiful and rapidly developing holiday destinations in Preveza.

TIPS

Don’t miss the amazing sunset that sinks into the sea behind the much-photographed Akrotiri…

Be sure to buy melon and watermelon from the local grocery stores, while don’t forget to get potatoes, tomatoes, zucchini and eggplants produced in Preveza.

Exclusive accommodation, excellent restaurants and beautiful landscapes create, together with the new Mytikas Fishing Shelter that has become, the most must-see destination.

And the kilometers of sandy beach continue: from Mytikas the road insists on coastal and quickly brings you to Monolithi, with the dominant element being the forest that reaches almost to the sea, and the impressive, fine sand “embracing” the endless beach while the tall trees and pine trees “caress” the sea.

On the beach there are beach bars for coffee and drinks until late at night.

Continuing in a North-West direction, you leave Monolithi behind and arrive at Kanali (about 17 km from Preveza).

Its coastal front is bustling with life during the summer months. Super organized Beach Bars, good restaurants and a very lively nightlife.

Immediately after, there is the beach of Kastrosykia, which is ideal for families with beautiful beaches and good food.

The route continues along the coast, reaching the seaside (and holiday) settlements of Lygia and Vracho-Loutsa, which are popular, with beach bars and water sports. Their beaches are reminiscent of Brazil with their turquoise waters and huge sandy beaches.

In the pine-covered Alonaki of Fanari with its emerald waters, in the Bay of Odysseas-Kerentzas with its fine sand and in the blue waters of Skala, you will be won over by the scenery you will encounter.

You must visit this unique part of the Ionian Sea…

The overwhelming majority of this route, from Preveza to Ammoudia, is by the sea, with only a few parts of it leaving the coastal front for a while. This means that as you pass, you will also find some smaller and more secluded coves, where you will enjoy your swim without encountering many people.

Throughout the route you will enjoy the endless blue while gazing at Paxos and Antipaxos.

Arriving in Parga, you admire the olive groves and the colorful traditional houses, as an amazing road trip to the most famous “land” island comes to an end.

Work up an appetite for kilometers and the lacy coastline continues to Arillas (Skaloma), the sheltered beach with the small harbor that connects Preveza with Corfu and Paxos.

Immediately afterwards you will come across the beautiful beach of Agia Paraskevi with the lush green island in front and the small church of the same name right next to the clear blue waters of the Ionian Sea.

Here you are in the now cosmopolitan Sivota with the beaches of Mikri and Megali Ammos being a must, as well as the much-photographed beach of Bella Vraka.

If you insist on the coast you will come across the touristic Plataria and in a few minutes you will find yourself at the Port of Igoumenitsa.

Somewhere here ends this magical road trip with a view of the Ionian Sea…

From here you are very close to the famous Island of Phaeacia.

Leave the car or motorbike and board one of the ships of KERKYRA SEA WAYS that offers the trip at a low ticket price and in one hour and thirty minutes you will be in the unique Corfu.
